WARHAMMER 40K: Dark Eldar Raider

I'm back with a small update. The piecing up of the entire kit is simply crazy.... Not your everyday Bandai kit, but still, it brings a smile to your face=)

I decided to remove the male connector of the sails and replaced them with magnets instead for easier removal during the painting phrase....

Looks good so far.... Next update will be the crew on the ship, stay tune!! See small update right?? haha....

WARHAMMER 40K: Dark Eldar Raider

Firstly, 新年快乐, or happy new year!! Been a pretty long time since I posted any WIPs.... so decided to do something refreshing and build a Warhammer 40K kit...=)

Let's take a look at what we have here....

It comes with a nice box art and just a couple of sprues, but check out the details man! Amazing casting of the details on both the ship and its crew.... And lets not forget the weapons!! Molding lines are plenty so will definitely require some effort there to clean up. But at a little less than S$50 is this worth it? Hmmm... will just have to wait and see......

Japan Nuclear Crisis

Hi all, I've been following the crisis in Japan from the start till now, and recently my Japanese colleague showed me a clip that the Japanese government made to educate the kids as well as grown ups of the situation.

HGUC Gouf Custom Ver R.E (COMPLETED)

Hello everyone, finally managed to complete this kit and just in time for the group meet this Sunday 27/2/11 @ Hobby Kulture!! Phew, it was a building process not without it's fair share of accidents. The most irritating being the quality of plastic... On 2 occasions, the plastic on the kit just cracked and broke, probably due to enamel thinner during washing.... Well enough rattling, here are the pictures!!!

And as usual... Controversial colours... haha...

HGUC GOUF CUSTOM Pt2

GONG XI FA CAI!!!

Hi all, it is that time of the year again where our bank accounts go up up up, Yes it is Chinese New Year! Woo Hoo!!! =)

HGUC GOUF CUSTOM

Hi all, back with a new build(Yes, my Sazabi is still in progress....) This is a special build for Hobby Kulture's Gouf Groupbuild.

The kit itself is pretty good. Major seamline found on the 2 shoulders, but nothing too serious. It is very decent just OOB, but being me, I wanted to add details to all that open space... So without further ado...

Sharpen the spikes by sanding them down

Changed the waist energy cables to the metal ones.
Filled up seams on the shoulders and added pla plates and panel lines

Well, that is all from me now. Gonna rest up for Chinese New Year, YAHOOOO!!!! Next update will probably be after CNY, to everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! HHUUAATTTT AHH!!!!!=)

HAPPY 2011!!

Hello all, yeah I know, it is already 5 days into the new year, haha... Oh well, better late than never!! So far the year hasn't been good to me at all, midnight shifts, falling sick.... Gosh.... I can't wait for the Lunar new year to arrive, seriously!!! It is suppose to be a very good year for Piggys like me, so I really hope that happens=)

Modelling-wise, I didn't manage to take part in the GM Groupbuild.... Busy on a Comissioned MG Strike Freedom (Horror kit BTW), afterwhich I'll finish it the GM and hopefully continue with my HGUC Sazabi....

HGUC Sazabi (Part2)

Hi all, back again with another update on this kit. Currently on leave now, so I can make use of whatever little time I have to do as much as I can....

ZAKU V.S RX-78 Gundam Ver R.E

To be honest, I have never build any of these two kits before, that was one reason why I decided to do this. Secondly, it is the 30th anniversary of Gunpla and what better way to celebrate it than to have 2 of the most beloved MS of the Gundam series in one presentation....

O a whole, this project took me 2 months to complete...
Some W.I.Ps on the Zaku, the RX-78 was basically 99% O.O.B...

HGUC SAZABI (Part 1)

Hello everyone, long time no see. Haven't been doing much lately, except for BAKWC 2010. Will upload pics of that later. But first a kit that I've been wanting to build for a long time, HGUC Sazabi. I won't going into the boring stuff of explaining what this MS is or who it belongs to, I'm sure 99% of Gundam fans already know.

Previously I has finished a HGUC Nu Gundam and it seemed fit to finish this fella as well to pair them up.... Just hope it doesn't take another year to complete, hahahaha....=P

Not too many problems with the fitting and seam lines are basic non existence, A good starter kit for newer modelers, on the other hand, the kit itself is kinda plain, so more experienced modelers can take the opportunity to detail this fella up. Nothing much done as yet, so stay tune for more.....

Its been a long time since.....

I have wrote on this blog... Feel so sorry for it, but time hasn't been on my side due to loads of work, work, work.....
I posted a new kit, but I promise one will be coming for the upcoming year end competition=)
Had a good talk with my younger brother.... He's leaving for Seattle tonight, managed to have a nice chat with him, how long has it been.....
I bought a kit, which is actually good!!!=)
I had a proper holiday..... All my leave kanna disapprove, stupid hotel.... I dun see why others get to go and not me...=(

Oh well, I'll be posting my latest work here within the next 2 weeks, so if anybody still reads this blog, please stay tune!!!=)

As for myself, sanding a bit of plastic here and there thinking of what to build for BAKUC.... Haven't joined for 2 years already and really itching to get back to BAKUC.... Not that I will win or anything, but see were I stand so far...

Mg Sinanju Ver R.E

Finally gotten this fella back from the competition. It really is a pain to carry around.... Well at least I know my efforts were not wasted this time round. Gotten myself a merit award... haha...=) Well as promised some snapshots of this fella....

First up some W.I.P. Wanted to support as many hobby shops as possible with this kit, so I went down to H.A.G @ Sunshine Plaza to get the kit...
And also the Bazookas....

A look at the wooden base and also the clay, good stuff btw, which were both bought from M-Workshop also located @ Sunshine Plaza

And then there were the crazy metal thrusters which I gotten from Hobby Kulture. Lots of shapes and sizes to choose from!! @_@

Basically this was a pretty OOB kit, only major mod I suppose was the sharpening of the spikes....

Test fitted the thrusters...

And so this was the before picture...

And the after pictures....

Well, overall had mixed feelings about this here kit. It is both a joy and frustration to build.... But overall I am very satisfied with the finished product.

Also like to thank an Overseas friend for giving me this idea of an alternate coloured Sinanju... You know who you are if you are reading this, haha....
Also like to thank Kbata and "Fujimi" for helping me carry this fella back..... haha... Owe ya one guys

World cup fever plus Mid Year Compy

As if the stars themselves were destined to line up like this, the World cup has arrived!!!! And to top things off, Mid year compy is here too!!!!!

Well, this year's Mid year compy looks pretty good. Not only because there were lots of quality kits, but because ShengTai finally got it right with the display cabinets!! Yahoo!!!! As usual the big guns were on form and 3 displayed works really caught my eye. The Red Sazabi from Titanium, The Sinanju from Orange and finally the 3 Zakus attacking a Guntank from last year's BAKUC runners up.... With this caliber, I can't wait to see what BAKUC 2010 has install for us!!

And yes world cup fever has hit the world... My favourites to lift this trophy are either Spain or Brazil, but by doing a little bit of research I think Brazil could very well do.... We shall wait and see....

I'll find time to take proper pictures of my Mid Year entry when I get it back, which by the way is the Purple Sinanju... Anyways signing off here, enjoy the pics of the compy by clicking here

I dun want iPhone

An iPhone is cool and all but for the Gundam Fanatic nothing beats an iPhone then a Gunpla 945SH G Ver. GP30th... WTF is that? It is a cell phone released by Softbank designed with the theme of E.F.S.F and Gundam RX-78 in mind. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!??

Cools thing, it comes with an MG RX-78 that is said to come with a 'Metal in Frame"... Dunno what that is too.... haha.....

Unfortunately, it is limited edition and from the loks of things, available in Japan only... Oh well..

So screw the iPhone and be poison by the Gunpla 945SH G Ver. GP30th

Happenings for the past few weeks....

Well certainly a lot has happened... The Icelanic volcano is still going strong resulting in closures of major airports in UK.... But who cares about that stuff, the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2010 just ended!!! NOW THAT'S BIG NEWS!!!

Lots of new kits, new annoucements meaning lots to look forward to in 2010!!!

One of the biggest featured kits annouced was from our good friends at Bandai in the form of MG The-O! Yes The-Freaking-O!!! Judging from the pics, it is one huge-ass kit, and on its ass is tagged a huge ass price tag...12600YEN!!! Close to S$200!! (-.-lll) Other exciting stuff inclued a fully built kit of the RG RX-78, and it looks totally cool!! Also annouced were the HGUC versions of the Unicorn series of kits ala Sinanju etc...

My friend Eday is looking forward to another new MG, but no it is not a Gundam but rather a MG Kamen Rider W. A dream come through for him, haha....

Oh before I forget, Hasegawa is also releasing an interesting new Eggplane. Macross Eggplanes anyone?? Looks so cute man!! I want one too!!

HGUC Nu Gundam Ver R.E

Well, after slightly over one year, I am proud to announce the completion of my HGUC NU GUNDAM!!!! YAHOO!!! Bring out the Champagne!! Ok here are the pictures then!!

And finally a parting shot....
This has got to be one of my favorite kits around although I felt I could have done a lot better..... But be warned, although it is very well engineered and all, when it comes to the painting stage, be prepared to lose A LOT OF masking tape!!! It is masking hell (....or heaven to some, haha)

HGUC Nu Gundam (Part "I can't remember...")

Ah yes.... once again, it is the revival of this kit.... After a more than a year, it is still unfinished....

Today I show you the shoulders and arms and some weapons.... nothing really fantastic, just plain old pla plating and scribing....

For the funnels, I simply scribed a bit of panel lines and then detail up with pla plate a little...

And I scribed some lines on the shield....

Well entering the painting phrase and from wat I gather it is no walk in the park... Lots of masking and swearing... But hopefully the next update would be of the finished kit....

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!!!

Well well, how time flies. It is the year of the Tiger already!! Rooar.... well, if what they say is true, this could actually be a good year for me, but it starts out pretty bad.... I dunno why.....=( Oh well, I've always taken Astrology with a pinch of salt.

Mid year compy is coming, and the theme of this year's competition is MG kits.... So time to wip out my stuff and start building!!!!

Still stuck with my 1/144 Nu Gundam though.... Must start turboing... Later still got Airfix cup followed by the year end competition..... Looks like a busy Tiger year huh??

GN X-IA (Part 7)

Well nothing much to update. Done up with the arms and ready for show.

Here's a quick look at the masking pain before colour was added on to the arms....

Not long now and the final pics will be up, then it's on to next project... Here's a teaser....

P.S: Might give WOOB a miss coz the decals of the kit I wanted to join with are all in very bad state... I soaked one piece in water and it just became soft and won't peel out.... Ended up it just torn itself up....=(

GN X-IA (Part 6)

Well, have finally done up the legs..... Argh, I really hate white paint, always seem too diluted to work with>=(

Anyways, did a lot of masking for the leg portion, but unfortunately no pics to show as I was too exhausted and pissed to remember to take them=P

Here one can see the panel lines clearly after wash. In my opinion, I really need more panel line practice....=(

Decals were also up. Used random decals from all sorts of kits to spice this kit up. Fitted the top half...

Then there is also the groin area and the back skirt... Nothing really special. Again, just try out something new and different=)

Decals up again and detailed up as well....

Looks ok rite?? Haha....

Well that is all for now, next up the arms and the little orbs for extra details and I can safely say, I'm all done with my first kit of 2010!!!\('u')/

GN X-IA(Part 5)

Typing this on a stormy night... Weather is so unpredictable these days....

Anyways, as I mentioned before, I'm trying a new method of completing my kit i.e Spraying, decaling, washing and flat coating one section of a kit at a time...

Have done up the head and top half of the body minus arm and here are the results....

The front....

I experimented on Mazora paint on the internals. One can see slight colour change in the Gun Metal, but overall I had to agree with Ben (aka Izakku81) that this series of paints are quite disappointing....=(

And the back.....

I must add, I used GAIA flat coat for this kit and the results simply blew me away. WHile the colours have been matt down, the brilliance in them are still retain vs other flat coats like Gunze where the colours tend to dull down a bit.... Good stuff and highly recommended for everyone!!

Also if anyone has the "correct" way of applying Mazora paints please please leave a comment and share share, thanks!!!

I think it looks good so far, bit just let me know what you think, open to suggestions for improvement. Thanks for looking=)

GN X-IA (Part 4)

Very tired these days due to work and other stuff.... Struggling to finish this fella up.... Hard to keep awake at times.... Got occasions where I did airbrushing till I fell asleep on my chair...(-.-)zzzzz

Painted up the weapons and the shield with the decals up too. Washed and flat coated as well=)

Here is a better look of the modified rifle which is able to attach the GN Blade onto.... Behind in of coz the tiny shield...

And in this pic, the GN sword is detached and the long range barrel is placed on instead....

GN X-IA(Part 3)

Well here is one last look at this fella before it goes into the paint job stage.... Customized weapon using original GN-X rifle to combine with Exia's sword... Looks pretty nice, well at least for me....

I think I'll try something different this year. Normally I would take apart everything and then paint them all at one go depending on the colour, but for this fella I'll paint, washing and decaling it part by part. Think it will allow me to be more aware of the kit and not leave out any art unattended to.... Well, we shall see.....=)

MG kits

Time flies...

Just the other day, while having dinner, I was talking to kbata. I was telling him I realised how long I haven't done an MG kit!! It has almost been like what... 1 1/2 years?? If my memory serves me right, the last MG I touched was a Crossbone....

This alone proves a few things....

1) I really have no time for MG....
2) HG kits are getting so much better that MGs are practically things of the past(well at least for me...)
3) I'm getting too lazy...=P
4) I have no motivation to build them...

Well, whatever the reason could be, I think we can all agree that over the years of "investment" into Bandai, we are finally seeing rewards by having better grades of kits coming out.... Compare a first gen MG Zaku 2 to the current MG Zaku 2 ver 2 to get an idea....

Well, enuough small talk... back to my erm... 1/144 kit, haha.... MG....(-.-lll)

GN X-ia (Part 2)

Alrighty then, the legs are done up as well. detailed up the parts with panel lines and also a chisel. Still not very good with the chisel though..... =(

the lower leg were detailed up using spares from my GM Quel and also some Pla Plates....

The back of the skirt also detailed up with GM Quel parts and pla plating. Very minimum detailing....

So far, both arms are up, both legs are up and also the head and body.... can feel the grip of my airbrush very sooonnnnnnn..=) Will be heading for a G-3 type colour scheme I suppose, so must faster finish building... Woohohooooooo....=)

1/144 GN X-IA (Part 1)

Well, as promised, I'll try to finish as many kits as possible with in this year, so presenting my first W.I.P of 2009!!! WOOHOO...

Got the idea from Hobby Japan modeler Seira Masuo. I'm a big big fan of his and I know a few other of my pals as well. He does crazy kit bashings and also take really old school and lousy kits and transforms them into beautiful creations.

This kit is a combination of a 1/144 GNX and 1/144 Exia plus spare material from my junkpile, which unfortunately or forunately is building up....=P I must say it is a very different experience and really requires one to use a lot of thinking and planning to execute the desired look....

Here's a first look at the kit....

I added some details here and there, but most noteable is being the face of the kit. I replaced the GNX's face with Exia's (not that I didn't like the original...) and also attached the V-fin to the head...

I also detailed up the stomache area, which will be exposed instead of covering it up in the end...

On the back of the kit, pla plate and also rives were used to detail up the backpack as well as the GN drive.....
And yes that is my Nu Gundam still behind, haha....

Well, I know nobody or not many people reads this blog of mine, unless I post it up in forums but if you do, please leave me a comment, so at least I know there are guys and gals out there following this... Haha...XD

Happy 2010!!

Ya I know I'm a few days late, but hey, better late than never right?? Haha... 2010 is hopefully a good year for me, both in terms of Modeling and life.... Been working on a kit, building stages are completed, now left painting,. hopefully can be done by the middle of the month, then can continue my long delayed Nu Gundam, followed by WOOB for Plamo....

Looks like a busy start to 2010 for me le, haha.... Hopefully this year can see the fruits of my labour start blooming. Gonna chiong as many competitions as possible and hopefully win a little something in return. been waiting for over 3 or 4 yrs le=(... Oh well should wait and see...

Lots of new kits on the release too, must watch my wallet man, or else can forget about going to Japan for holiday le, haha...

SD God Gundam III

Phew, finally done up this little fella and just in time for Plamo's Gathering....

The blue and red are all custom mixed using the power of "Agaration", haha.... Masking experience was off the charts. Overall a pretty fun build that really really pushes a modeler to his/her limits, so very good for patience training XD....

Without further ado....

Return of HGUC Nu- Gundam

Well, after soooooooo long, and the constant pestering of my buddies, I finally resume work on my Nu Gundam.... The last time we left, I believe I was working on the skirts, and today, I present the legs=)

The design of the legs are simply beautiful. Once again, no seams and everything pieces up very nicely. Ok enough talk, time for pics.

I think it is quite obvious which is the original and which is modded, haha....XD
Once again, used Tamiya and Evergreen pla plates and eproxy putty with the modds.

SD GOD GUNDAM II

Well, yet another update. Been quite happy with the results so far. Let's take a quick look see this short update....=)

All 4 hands are eproxified and sanded down. Necessary craving was required to shape the hands.

The under parts of the shoulders are also eproxified and sanded down. Here you can see the before and after sanding picture.

Also the back of the erm.... Claws?? Sharpened the claws as well.... Fierce or not?? Roooarrr...

3 Kingdom God Gundam

My poor blog seems to be left all alone to rot.... I'm so sorry blog....=(

Well with that aside, it's time to breath in new life to my blog..... by posting a new W.I.P!! Yahoo....=)

Decided to have a relax build and try something different since I wouldn't be joining BAKUC once again this year. So decided to build this kit as I have yet to complete a single SD and I really like G Gundam...

Well let's take a look at the kit after assembly then....
Actually if you compare this fella to the previous SD kits, this one quite well done. Apart from the usual hollow legs, hands and seams the rest of the stuff are pretty much well detailed!
Started out by adding eproxy to the back of the hands and then once dried, slowly sand and crave out the details=)

And then there is the V-fin (can you even call it a V-fin anymore??) Also added eproxy to the back and sanded away. At the same time sharpen it...

I can already foresee crazy mask spraying for this kit, but that is a problem to be solved later...

Well, F1 is finally over. I must say, the 3-day event was quite an eye opener for me. Really really enjoyed it. But dunno whether will have another chance to see it again... Oh well, only time will tell I guess....

Hmmm.... BAKUC is around the corner so stay tune!!

Feeling really lousy these days... can't seem to get anything done right. Go down hill.

I can't seem to get my Blog to work proper.. can't post any pics, change colours... nothing except this is crap.....

I'm glad I'm leaving my current job and all but it seems like I haven't really done much for the past 2 1/2 years there... Just hope I will be able to achieve something when I get to the "New" place... I'll miss the people at PPO=( But life must go on......

BAKUC is about 2 months away.... Still nothing to show, ARGH!!!!! WTF?!?!? This is not good..... Haiz....

Money seems to drain off faster than I can save up... NNNNnnnnoooooo My wallet feels so light suddenly...=(

Oh well, waiting for October 1st, I'll kind of restart my life in every possible way and manner.... but for now I'll just cocoon myself up alone yet again.....

Enact Custom

Well, another OO kit on the way. This time for a special groupbuild to celebrate 30 years of Gundam!! Yahoo!!! Here are the details...

And now on to my build...

The design of this fella is very unique... in a good way. Bandai has really come a long way since its first HG kit and this one is prove that we have invested our money wisely on them, haha.... Although not as spectacular as the Nu Gundam(I'm still building it btw) it does have its beautiful points.

Seamlines are simple to get rid of, fixing it up is a quick process. no headaches at all EXCEPT the ball joints that connects the groin to the legs. One wrong move and you will find your Enact unable to transform, haha....

I have not much ideas for this kit so I decided to keep it simple. So far all I did was to scrible panel lines on the head....
....And shoulders.....
Will post more updates as we go on, want this to be a quick build, many things waiting for me to do, C&C are welcome as always, thanks!!!=)

Full Armour Optimus Prime

Well, watch the new transformers film. As usual, the plot is thin but I enjoyed the graphics and animation. One particular robot that really caught my eye was when Optimus Prime combined with Jetfire, I was like WTF???? Then it appeared and I was blown away by the design, simply beautiful!!!

I was like WOW!!!! It has a lot of potential for Gundam freaks like myself.

One other robot I liked was Devastator, It is basically the combination of the constructor-cons.....
The last robot I like is Soundwave..... Unfortunately can't find a picture of him.... Anyone has one?? The movie version??

Ya, so it was a cool movie with lots of military stuff and mecha madness just that it was tied down by its thin plot, Oh well，can't get the best of everything right?? Hehe....

Hayabusa (Part I)

Been really down recently due to work.... So many stupid stuff happening.... Oh well, at least I know I have my friends by my side and also my model kits=) The Plamo UTA has finally started, and while most entries are ships and boat with a few planes, I decided to go for a bike. And my preference choice for a bike would be a Hayabusa 1300R...

Started with sanding and priming, still very rough so need to sand down more....

As you can see, still a long way to go.... So far, it seems only Tamiya releases this bike, but if anyone out there knows another company that does the newer version, Hayabusa 1300, please PM me or leave me a note or something..... Love this bike to mad.....=) Hope can finish it as well... haha.....

What an emotional week it has been... lots of crap happening, mood swings, midnight shift... gosh....

I suppose it started with the midnight shift. I tell you, staying up overnight can really wreck your brain up. You start thinking funny, act funny and your clock is so messed up.... Then came the day my favourite team Newcastle United got relegated to the Championship.... Oh man, after 16 years in top flight.... I just hope Shearer stays on and bring up right back up to where we rightfully belong, the EPL.

Then of course there is the first bloody case of H1N1 in Singapore, Wonderful.... Bloody sick bitch had to bring it home.... Let's see how fast it spreads here. A nice tropical country is breeding heaven for viruses and bacteria.....

Well of course, not all is doom and gloom in my life. Last night, erm... this morning actually, Barcelona kicked Man Utd's sorry ass and taught them how to play proper football and lifted the Champion's League title, making them the first Spainish team in history to win a Treble. Then there is Gundam 00 compy coming up this afternoon at Taka Basement 2. Really hoping for some sort of achievement this time round=) Will be taking pictures of the other entries as well...=) And finally, Company's Dinner and dance, which hopefully is as fun as las year's if not better

Seems like things have gotten better, so I hope it will remain like that as long as possible=) Now to start my Hayabusa, VVVRRRRROOMMMMMMMMMMM........

Tieren Space Type (Finished!)

Finally finished up this fella. Overall quite happy the finished results. Base still need more work though, haha.... But I'm sure there will be more chances on that. So now is to wait for that call from the guys at Sheng Tai. Must apologise for the badly taken pics especially the ones in Black background. Seems the lighting still not enough to portrait the pics in black.... Anyways here are the finished pics, please enjoy=)

Well, working in the hotel industry, we see many different faces from all over the world. But I think one major issue that really bugs me is the fact that guests are getting cheaper and cheaper these days.... They will try all ways and means to like really get a freaking good deal out of there room rate...

I mean Com'on man... Fella sits in front of me, room rate reads "S$200++ inclusive of Breakfast", and start going on abt got internet or not. "Got! But must pay loh" He will go "I paying so much money and u u cant even give me a freaking Internet?! When i was at XXX hotel, they gave me internet plus breakfast and even late check out till 10000000000 O'clock!!!"........
Can i safely say the first thing that comes to any normal human being's mind is,"THEN GO BACK THAT FUCKING XXX HOTEL LAH U CB!!!" But of coz sad as can be we can only smile and bite our tougue while he continues his crazy ass rampage.....

With all that said, there are the other kind of guests... GOT EVERYTHING STILL NO HAPPY ONES..... Here is the perfect example:
Room rate reads"S$300++ inclusive of Club benefits (ie: breakfast, internet, BUTLER SERVICE, HAPPY HOUR!!!!) then guest goes, "ok great, but the internet in room is it WiFi??" So I go, "No sir, it is thru cable and cable is provided." The storm lai liao. "WHAT NO WiFi? HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO WORK LIKE THIS?!?! I CANNOT ACCEPT THIS NONSENSE!!!!" Hello sir, you got everything under the fucking sun and u still not happy WTF?!?!?! then then complimentry late check out till 3pm also throw in... "Can I have a complimentry 6pm late check out instead?" " Erm, how abt no?" 2nd wave comes," WHAT FIRST ROOM HAS NO WiFi, NOW YOU TELL ME I DON'T HAVE A 6PM LATE CHECK OUT, WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE IS THIS? DO YOU KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS??" " Well, check out time is basically 12pm we give 3pm still not happy.... Got free internet demand Wifi cannot get also not happy... Want this want tat everything also want... DIE WANT OR NOT SIR??

This pretty much sums up hotel life.... NOT!!

Of coz there are the occasional nice ones. Like today for example. This Israeli couple checked in. His rate is 200 something ++ include breakfast (BUT FOR 1 ONLI) internet and 2pieces of laundry PLUS a late check out for free at 1800hrs....(Special account) Now he came from a company that is known for quite cheapskate fellas, so i was a prepare to have my very own Gulf War. But what I wasn't prepared was the replies that followed...
Me:" Ok sir, ur rate is blah blah including blah blah blah"
Guest(Gst) : "Great!"
Me(thinking): Wah sure or not?
Gst: BTW does the free internet in room come from Wifi?
Me: It is cable sir, cable provided already.... (Shit lai liao)
Gst: Ok sounds great....
Me: Huh? WTF? Can test water....
Me: Sir just like to inform you that breakfast is only for 1 person, if your wife decides to have it then there will be an additional charge.
Gst: How much?
Me: S$35++ (Lai liao lai liao)
Gst: Ok no problem....
Me: Huh?? WTF?
then this is the part that I love the most
Gst: U noe, at my age, after living for so many years I learn a very valuable lesson in life. And that is "In life, nothing is free"

Wah lao, I hear already I almost wanted to hug him and his wife

Me: Sir, I seriously wish all my gust can be as understanding as you are.
Gst: I know the situation nowadays. Young ppl always finding ways and means to get free this and free that, it is very sad.....
At this point of time I was searching for the better rooms in the hotel to put him in, I mean hey, you are nice to me, I'm nice to you too.
In the end I told my assosiates the story, and they were all giving the same reaction,"How i wish every guest was like him"
My Assistant Manager May even added that if the guest wanted a suite room she will also be willing to give him for the comment he made, haha.....
Anyways, just want to share share a hotelier's life with everyone. Don't know why everyone thinks being a hotelier is so good.... Till next time.......

Space Tieren (Part VII)

Well, it has been quite some time since I last updated. Painting of the red dude is done, so now it is to do up a base. Actually this is the very first time I have done a base so quite afraid what might appear... Well, let's find out....

Well, first and foremost I laid out the basic structure with Styrofoam to get a feel of how it will ook like... White glue is used to stick the Styrofoam down....

Next, it is on to the clay. This is the hard part. The clay didn't seem to want to want to stick on the surface, be it wood or Styrofoam. So I just pressed it on and waited for it to harden a little before doing any sculpting.... Fortunately it worked and with my trusty sculpt did some random formations....
I left the clay to dry for about a day before I added the colour... First was a Black preshade. No need to be so nice one, random can le.

Next the Red Brown goes in.....

Finally, Grey was used to complete the overall look. Used some Khaki to drybrush on to bring out the details....
Next was the stand. Sacrificed the Celestial Being base that was given to me together with the 1/100 00 Raiser. First Black preshade, followed by a layer of white, then masked up to spray my Orange Gold mixture and finally masked up again for Metallic Blue.....

Final product was weathered with Tamiya weather set and Volia..... On the side of the stand, trying to create an erm..... explosion? Will find out why later, hehe.....=)

Overall still quite happy with the base be it the first time doing it. Like to thank Eday for his advice and Kbata for telling me how to build base. Haha.... Well till the next update, which should be the finished kit, pls leave your comments behind!! Thank you!!=)

Tieren (Part VI)

Ok, time for another UPDATE!!!!

It is now into the painting stages. Chosen red as my preferred colour. Yes I can hear the masses going," oh com'on, not another red one....." or "can't you think of something more original??" Well, I have never done a red colour MS before, so I thought this would be a nice opportunity to try it.=)

My base was primed with Grey, shaded with one layer black and one layer red brown. 2 reds were mixed as I wanted some contrast ie, some parts of the Tieren will have a lighter shade of red while others get darker. I also took a gamble by having some details painted in Gold....

Dark red is basically a mix of Red + Red Brown + Black
Light red is Above mixture + White + Florocent Pink + Orange
Gold is Gaia Bright Gold + Clear Orange

Spraying this kit can really be a pain, especially the masking... Gosh my precious masking tape.... Well, no pain no gain I suppose....

Overall, the painting came out great, well at least that was how I saw it. Decided not to add decals to this fella, IMO it is war machine not an F1 car... haha..... Almost to the finish line le, and ahead of time!!! YAHOOO.... As always C&C pls pls pls... Thanks for viewing!!!=)

Tieren (Update Part V)

Nothing really much this time round, Just a quick and short update on the weapons that I'll be armour this big boy with....=)

Firstly is the Melee weapon. My weapon of choice is an axe, courtesy of, you got it, Kotobukiya.... Haha... Nice design and in my opinion suits this fella in every way....

Then we go on to the range weapon. Here in used parts from the Tieren's machine gun and place them on that 4 barrel thingy on the other arm.... Drilled some holes here and there and Ta-Da....

Tieren PART IV!!!(Update 11/04/09)

Hi all, being quite awhile since the last update I think, so today, I present to you the sexy legs to go together with the fierce groin, haha....

First let's take a look at the before picture of the leg....

Not very interesting huh? And I know A LOT OF PEOPLE have issues with the 2 tubes in front, so that will really be a task to challenge me for awhile......

SO as always, I think everyone who has ever read this boring blog should know, I using Koto and Wave option parts to enhance the appearance and also pla plate from Tamiya and Evergreen to detail up other areas.

Drilled several 1mm holes around to give it a more mecha look. I sawed off the tubes in front and covered up with pla plate followed by Koto parts to enhance look....

As for the back of the legs, I sawed off the ermmm... foot guard from my GM Quel and placed on this fella, looks ok to me at least..... haha.....

Yup that is all for now, damn bloody burnt out from the legs.... Argh, this kit's legs are full of F&^&^%^king seamlines...... Next up will be the back pack and weapons before starting the painting process..... Dateline is coming, HELP MEEEE!!!!!!

Tieren UPDATED!!!(04/04/09)

Well, after the Plamo scare, it is time to get back to work.... Just got word that the submission date is 15th May 2009. What the F^*&*((K is Sheng Tai thinking.... Well done....

Anyways, instead of blaming them, I suppose it will be better to use the energy to finish up my kit....

The last time we left off with the chest area.... sooooo today I'll present a special double, haha.... Done up the arms and the Groin or KKJ area.... Haha...=P

Ok This big boy looked like this the last time round...
So today we do the arms first.....

Once again my best friends Evergreen and Tamiya assisted me with the pla plates necessary to detail up. Pla rods were used as well. drilled a few little holes here and there and finished off with scribing of panel lines on the arms... Simple little detailing that took me a long time as I had to ensure both sides looked the same...Phew...=)

Next the groin area.

Very simple details as well here. First time using G-temple stuff and to be honest, they look really good!! The two fangs on the KKJ(WTF) are 1.0mm pla plates and once again, the entire groin is detailed up with Koto, Wave, Hobbymate PE and G-temple parts. PHEW....=)

Overall, still quite happy at the direction this big boy is going, only thing is to rush for the dateline.... Argh..... Next is of cause the legs. This should be interesting.....

Oh man, just received sad sad news that Plamo Forum is closing down.... Well being April Fool's day I'm sure everyone hopes it is just a joke.

However, on a serious note, if it is for real, totally respect Mr Max's decision and instead of feeling sad, we should look back and celebrate the good times we had and the tons of knowledge we gained in this journey... New friends were found and old friends became closer....

Tieren Space-type (Part 2)

Phew, finally did up the chest part and the sides. Applied an almost similar presentation as my Nu Gundam.... As I mentioned earlier, I wanted an "exposed" look to my Tieren. So here we go then...

Here we have the main chest piece. (From previous post)

Originally it was just a plain simple block of emptiness, so to spice things up I used a combination of Tamiya and Evergreen pla plates. The "wrapping" technique was used here, haha... Further details were added using Koto and wave option parts. A piece of Hobbymate PE was added to further enhance the look....

On the top I added 2 copper wires just to make it look busy.... Boy this fella is really lacking detail......
Ok mounted the chest piece to the main body....

Here's a look at the sides.... Once again same ingredients were used to enhance the plainess of the parts...

HG Space Tieren

Woah, haven't been updating anything for the past few months.... Well, burn out plus ICT doesn't really help.

Anyways, after a refreshing trip back from Ipoh, decided to do a kit for Gundam OO Mid year competition..... As of last year, I'll build a tieren again, but a space type one so hopefully this one can finish in time to become my first finished kit of 2009!!! Erm.... Just in case anyone is wondering where the Nu Gundam gone to, it is still alive, so don't worry, haha.....

Without further ado, LET'S GOOOOOOOO....

Actually nothing much to show really. Started off with the shoulders, with some glaring Seamlines, I used Koto parts as well as brass wires, Tamiya and Evergreen Plaplates and also Hobby Mate photo etch to detail the shoulders up.....

Today is a new beginning. TODAY IS THE DAY WE LAUNCH "PROJECT AI"!!!! (Ai as in Love in Mandarin....)

After a disappointing dinner on the first day of Chinese New Year, a few of my cousins and I decided it is time for the new generation to take over. As of today, we will officially take charge of CNY 2010!!! We will source out resources and share notes and receipts meet up every month and gather what we have..... Gosh so exciting, I really can't wait to get started, WOOHOOO!!!!=)

Opera

Boy I hate that word...... No, not Opera as in Chinese opera or Operas you go watch @ Esplanade, Opera as in the stupid computer system that my work place is running on.

Here is what it shows you on the main page:" Seamless, Intuitive, wireless, versatile, superior"

One word sums up all of the above plus the Opera system itself.... RUBBISH!!!!!

I have seen the crappest systems in my time, but nothing and I MEAN NOTHING beats what I'm experiencing as I type this.... I'm load a page to go into my guest folio, 20mins have pass and the bloody thing is STILL LOADING!!!!What if the gst is checking out, siao liao la...... Tell my manager, she say system just reseted so lag a bit... A BIT?!?!?!

Nu Gundam

Hi all, back with a small update.... On leave a few days, so can chiong a bit of plastic=)

Ok, the other day Link was asking about the adding on of the extra pla plates to the skirt, so today I'll show how it's done.... Nothing much really, but just share share so everyone can learn learn...

So first you select the area you wanna place the detail..... In this case the lower area of my Nu's KKJ area..... ( I'm sure you know what KKJ is....O.o)

So you cut pla plate to desired shape and cement it. Please note to cut pla plate BIGGER than the actual surface area... Next you sand off the excess til it alights with the kit

Ok now the take the next pla plate and place it on the other side that will form the erm.... full detail? Once again pla plate should be bigger than actual surface area. This time though you sand till it alighs the first pla plate you cemented earlier!!!

Now if you added enough cement earlier on it would have melted the 2 pla plates together to a point no seamline can be noticed, so spray surfacer to make sure.As seen here I used super glue+baby powder combo to seal the line.... Sand off and check again to make sure and Vola detail UPPPPP!!!

Updated: Nu Gundam

Sorry for the lack of updates, job is taking a toll on me.... Anyways a small little update of what can manage to do so far.....

Made lobang of Koto thrusters on the frontal skirts

I added some pla plates and scribed simple panel lines on the frontal skirts as well.... Painful experience....

Also managed to lengthen the side skirts..... They were waaaaaaaay too short liao.....

Also a new look to the head..... I'm quite ok with it......

Happy new year everyone!!! Starting off the new year with updates on the progress of Nu Gundam!!

Finished with the head already, it is on to the chest area. Detailed the collar area with pla plate and also some wave and kotobukiya parts. and also not forgetting the chest area. Once again pla plates were used.

Also detailed up the front of the chest with koto parts along with pla plates... Phew.... And a few panel lines added with the help of my trusty needle and pin vice.=)

Well that's all for now, onto the skirt area. My target for this kit is end of January, hope can meet the deadline, so I can start on something else. Not too good to get stuck on one kit. It is the formula to Burnout.

HGUC 1/144 NU GUNDAM
Alrighty, after all that 1/144 airshow madness, it is time again for a little Gunpla action. So what better way to kick it off than with a 1/144 Nu Gundam!!! Seems like CCA has hit Plamo with several of the newly engineered HGUC kits being built up. Not trying to compete with Eday or Erix but this is the only CCA kit I have so far.....

Ok so, above is a build up of the kit. I must say, the money we invested in Bandai really paid off. With practically ZERO seamline except for the usual weapons, this kit is worth every penny. It looks good OOB, but the plain-ness let's your imagination run wild with ideas!=)

So let's start with the head. Drilled holes throught the head vulcans and inserted these little guys in.

Can you see the results?? No very clear huh?? Next time ok??

Next of course is to sharpen 'V' fins, ouch my fingers....

Something not very necessary, but I did a neck extension using 1mm plapate.

I also found Nu's head too, er..... flat? So decided to lenghten is with good old eproxy putty and.....

Polyster putty and.....

Normal putty.....

More tales to share..... Typing this as I'm working midnight shift

So X'mas is here, hotel is packed with KIDS!!!!! not small children but teens, who don't think they are teens.... Turn the bloody music on so high, drink and drink and drink, smoke and smoke and smoke, drunk liao cry ah, laugh ah, VOMIT ah!!!

Then this couple came, not hotel guests. Locked themselves up in Handicap toilet and make out...... Cleaner came to me for help coz he wants to clean the toilet. In the end, knock on the door to give them a surprise. So after like for eternity, they came out...The lady came out 2nd and guess what she said..... "Toilet no more soap...." Huh?? You got me there lady..... HELLO, already in the bloody hotel, get a Bloody room la, then I give u and your Bloody boyfriend all the bloody soap you Bloody want!!!!!!! KNNBCCB.....
I tell you Singapore youngsters these days.....

Phew, finally gotten my Seahawks done and uploaded!!!@_@ One painful week to finish, but I guess the most valuable lesson for this build was decal ling. Always been afraid to do extreme ones, but this was a major step forward. Anyways, please enjoy the pictures!!!

A lot of people asked me whether I painted the Tiger and the blue bird (Lan Jiao......), sad to say no I didn't cause if I did and could I'll be rich, haha..... Till next time!!!

Well, been building this Seahawk for a while for the upcoming Plamo Groupbuild....

The kit is from Dragon.... It is both a hit and a miss.... Beautiful details but instructions could have been a lot better.... Oh well what can one expect from a $12.90 kit ya??

A new year is almost upon us, and I look back this past year and wonder to myself, "What have I achieves in terms of modeling...." just a consolation prize back in early 08 during the Airfix cup.... And that was pretty much it.....

Almost everyday, I look around me trying to gain inspiration from everywhere, but sadly to no great results what so ever..... What is it that I'm lacking to make it big? Skill? knowledge? Patience? Or is it simply that I just do not have what it takes to make it there, to be standing on the same stage as the greats like Eday, Izakku or Erix.... Heck I don't even have the chance to meet these greats....

Come 2009, I really hope to make an impact in the modeling scene. To do some finished works so amazing, no one can fault it. I hope form of motivation, or maybe even obsession, can drive me to reach my goals or at the very least place me up there somewhere with the big player....

At this time only time will tell.... Only time will tell.....
